In an Emergency

Quote / Testimonial:

If you need urgent medical advice during surgery hours, please phone the surgery on 01264 351144.

Please be prepared to give some information to the receptionist.

Emergency Consultations

We are a busy practice, and providing Emergency same day appointments makes it easier for you to see a doctor quickly. These emergency 5-minute appointments are bookable on the day and offered from 9.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. and again from 4.30 p.m. daily (except for Bank Holidays and weekends).   You should attend the Emergency Surgery only if you have an urgent problem and must see a doctor the same day; you may have to wait some time (in turn).  Please do not abuse this service.

Out of Hours

If you need to see a doctor urgently when the surgery is closed please telephone 111. You will be put through to the NHS 111 Out of Hours service who provides the ‘out-of-hours’ service on behalf of NHS Hampshire. They will pass a message to the doctor on duty who may phone you to assess your problem. You might be asked to attend the out-of-hours clinic, or receive a home visit.

NHS 111 has replaced NHS Direct and will provide a single point of rapid access for all non emergency healthcare services.  At any time of day or night, you can call 111 for free expert health information and advice. It can advise you whether you need to go to the nearest A&E (accident and emergency) or if there is an alternative such as visiting an NHS walk-in centre. For deaf people and those hard of hearing, a telephone services is available on 0845 606 4647.

Non-urgent advice: Severe chest pain, loss of blood or suspected broken bones

Whatever the day or time, if you or someone else experiences severe chest pain, loss of blood or suspected broken bones, go to your nearest accident and emergency department (A&E) or call 999.
