COVID Booster and Seasonal Influenza Vaccinations

Dear Patient

We’d like your help, and would appreciate it if you complete the survey at the bottom after having read the following.

Each year we invite you for an influenza (Flu) vaccination as you meet one of the NHS eligible at risk groups. This starts in late September goes until the end of March (however, our clinics are usually completed by November). Invitations will be sent out by the practice once clinics are live for booking (please do not call us yet). We operate a first come first served appointment booking system for this clinic.

This year there will be a separate COVID booster vaccination programme running alongside the Flu programme, with the same patient eligibility as the flu programme.  However, we must comply with the nationally mandated invitation priority order rather than a first come first served system.

  • We aim to have all Stage 1 (over 70s, NHS workers, clinically venerable) patients completed by the end of October
  • We aim to have all Stage 2 (over 50s, long term conditions) patients completed by the end of December

The purpose of our survey is to understand our patient’s needs and wants so that we can plan clinics on this basis.

Would you prefer to have both vaccines on the same day for convenience, but understand that you will have to wait until you are invited for your COVID booster, or would you prefer to have vaccines separately as soon as they become available or do you wish to decline one or both vaccines?
