Dear patient

COVID19 restoration update

From the 17th May 2021 GP Practices were asked by NHS England to return to normal, reinstating all routine services and to offer face to face appointments again where appropriate.

As a practice we turned off very little throughout the COVID19 pandemic as we were lucky enough to maintain a healthy workforce and our building allowed us to practice safely. Other than airborne procedures like Spirometry and non-urgent services like ear syringing all else continued.

As a practice we collaborated with a local ‘hot hub’ so that our COVID19 symptomatic patients could be seen face to face if needed in a controlled environment. We triaged all patients by phone and if non COVID19 symptomatic we offered face to face appointments if both parties (patient and doctor) felt that to be appropriate/necessary.

In reaction to last week’s press.

Although lockdown is easing, COVID19 is still around and we do not wish to have a setback. Please continue to socially distance and stay safe.

  • You can come to reception but we encourage you to avoid this and use our online services or to call us where possible.
  • We are offering face to face appointments but our care pathway remains as triage first (telephone pre-consultation or online e-Consult) so that we can screen patient risk factors for yourself and the wider public.
  • We have been open throughout the pandemic. We are facing unprecedented demand at present and we urge you to only make contact if you have a medical need to address.
  • Please note that your GP is not always the best person to provide your care for certain conditions. In General Practice are recruiting many specialist roles and/or linking up with community service providers in which we may direct you to. This is for your benefit.
